Manchester United might place Jesse Lingard on loan again, this time to Newcastle United.
Steve McLaren, who has recently been given the charge of Newcastle, likes Lingard’s game having already worked with him and he is willing to have the youngster in his ranks again.
McLaren and Lingard had had an association at Derby County and the winger pretty much managed to impress his boss there.
The Manchester United management is also not reluctant to let Lingard go and why would they be?
Lingard is not up there in the pecking order as far as United is concerned.
His chances of getting games there is minimal. On the other hand, going to Newcastle, he would earn some valuable Premier League exposure and that would only do him good.
2014-15 actually looked like going to be Lingard’s breakthrough season at Old Trafford.
He managed to put a very good impression on Van Gaal in the training sessions and also, with some of his performances during pre season.
He ended up being awarded a place in the starting line up in the very first match in the Premier League for United which was versus Swansea City and would have got a few more opportunities as well, but, he was unlucky to sustain an injury there which ruled him out of action for as many as 6 months.
On his comeback, he was sent to Derby County as there was no place for him in the line up of United at that point of time.
That Swansea game happens to be the only game that Lingard has played for United till now.
He would like to have a decent spell at Newcastle this season and come back to break into the starting line up of the Red Devils again.
