Manchester City’s latest Premier League match was against Swansea City and Manuel Pellegrini’s team picked up a scare in this game as their opponents took the lead at the 9th minute through Wilfried Bony as the Ivorian forward received a pass from his teammate Dyer before slotting it into the net of Joe Hart.
The lead of Swansea City did not last very long as Stevan Jovetic tied the match 1-1 after 20 minutes had passed and Yaya Toure managed to score the winning goal in the 2nd half as Manchester City came out with the victory despite having fell behind in the scoreboard in the early stages of the game.
Swansea City’s Garry Monk displayed his disappointment after watching how his squad was not able to maintain their lead and just allowed Manchester City to score goals.
“We had a couple of chances late on and we possibly should have come away with something. There was genuine disappointment in the dressing room. I’ve been to places like this where we have been blown away but we’re genuinely disappointed we have come away with nothing. You can never score too early but our mentality changed when we scored. We became too protective. Then when they went ahead we played like we started the game. That’s all part of the learning process, and that will improve’’ Garry Monk told the reporters after the conclusion of the match.
Garry Monk also took the chance to silence and reject all the rumors that were linking Swansea City with the Spanish forward Michu. Michu is a 28 year old forward who is currently out on loan and performing with Napoli but rumors started to spread around like wildfire suggesting that Michu would end his loan deal with the Italian team sooner than expected and return to Swansea City as he was expected to serve as an replacement to Wilfried Bony who has to play for Ivory Coast in January and help his country compete in the Africa Cup of Nations.
“Michu is on loan at Napoli for the season. I’m not even thinking about that, I’ve not even checked the details of the loan. Obviously Ivory Coast’s qualification dictates what you do in terms of January. We may have to go into the loan market or do something to cover it. We could promote from within, but it is likely to be a loan. It might be a loan with a view to a permanent or to next season, or just for a month.” Garry Monk added on as he said that there is a possibility of him adding another player to his squad on a loan deal and also shutting down the rumors involving Michu.
