Former Liverpool, Bolton Wanderers and Swansea centre forward, David Ngog is still struggling in France despite the move he made to find his form. The striker who is only 27 years of age, with dual nationality of France and Cameroon, made the move from Swansea to FC Reims in the 2014/2015 session via a free transfer. The French player has prosecuted 16 matches this season but could only find the back of the net three times. Last season, he played 32 games for the club but only managed to put seven goals at the back of the net. Hence, his drop in the pecking order at the club.
In 2014, Sports Mail make a compilation of the top 50 worst ever strikers to have played in the English Premier League. David Ngog was named among the worst due to his disappointment at various English clubs. The Frenchman was signed form Paris Saint-Germain as a promising teenager in 2008. When he was signed, the manger then, Rafa Benitez heaped praises on the aspiring talent when he said:
“Liverpool are finding players like Ngog, players with quality who are not a high price.”
It was just rather unfortunate that the striker never lived up to the hype. He spent three disappointing years at Anfield and fans questioned his 1.5million pounds purchase. The player only managed nine goals in 64 Premier League games. He was very lucky to convince Bolton Wanderers to sign him for four million pounds, helping The Reds make profit. While at the Wanderers, the striker only found the back of the net just three times in 33 top flight games. He went on loan to Swansea after the Wanderers were relegated, he failed to impress there again before moving back to his native country, France. David Ngog is struggling at Reims.
