Liverpool enjoyed an impressive Campaign winning the Champions League and pushing Man City all the way in the Premier League. The Reds have been quiet in the transfer window but could face some departures from their youth team.

Portuguese tabloid Record claims that Sporting Lisbon are close to signing youngster Rafael Camacho from the club. According to the report both teams have been in negotiations for the player for a few weeks.

Camacho is considered as a quality transfer by the Portuguese club who are bracing themselves for some summer exits. Star player Bruno Fernandes is a target for both Liverpool and Manchester United with the player valued at £80 million.

Camacho is viewed by Sporting Lisbon as a player that could equally develop to the levels of Fernandes in a couple seasons from now.

Liverpool were initially bent on receiving £8.9 million for the youngster but the club have agreed to lower their valuation of the young forward.

However, the Reds wants to insert a sell on clause of 20% and a transfer fee of £5.4 million. Camacho is one player that is highly rated within the Liverpool setup but has been unable to break into the first team.

The Anfield side has not seen any youth striker break into the first team since the time of David Ngog and the French forward did not stay for long at the club.

Camacho still has a year left on his existing contract and Liverpool are getting fair value for the player. Portuguese clubs are known for buying players on a cheap and developing them to sell after a few years for decent profits.

With the sell in clause inserted the Champions League holders would be able to benefit from any financial windfall in the future.
